With the increase in popularity of the
Team America Rocketry Challenge, "Egg Lofting" has grown to be one of the
most popular activities for students interested in model rocketry. While
the TARC challenge is targeted at the 7th - 12th grade level, many educators are
interested in introducing egg lofting into their younger classrooms, summer
camps and afterschool programs.
In response, we developed the V.E.E.P. as a beginner's project for students in
grades 2nd - 7th. The V.E.E.P. is an easy, fun way to introduce your students to
key concepts in egg lofting and beginning model rocketry. With the V.E.E.P.,
students experiment with different materials that could be used to protect their
"Eggstranaut". Each student works with their own nosecone/parachute
assembly and - at the end of the experiment - these are launched and flown
individually on a single model rocket booster. The VEEP system is great for
educators interested in focusing on the 'experiment' rather than the
construction of a model rocket.
For older or advanced students interested in egg lofting, the
Quest Courier comes in a variety of packages. If you (or your
students) are participating in the TARC competition this year why not check out
Quest's special "Team
America Egg Lofting Parts" ?
